Erick San Pedro
esp@hitting365.comErick San Pedro brings over a decade of coaching experience and a lifetime of passion for the game of baseball. Raised in Miami, Erick attended Monsignor Edward Pace High School where he was an exceptional student-athlete. After graduating, he attended The University of Miami where he furthered his athletic career as the starting catcher and team Captain. In 2004, he was drafted in the 2nd round by the Montreal Expos. In the same year he was drafted, he reached career highs at the University of Miami where he hit 12 home runs and 51 RBI. His slugging percentage was .633 on the year with an on-base percentage of .452. One of his most impressive statistics was that he was throwing out almost 40 percent of opponent base runners.
Erick takes a unique approach to coaching — he believes in blending both traditional hitting methodologies as well as using technology to identify areas of improvement. With the use of video analysis and devices that capture athlete data, he is able to identify patterns in the hitter's body mechanics and movement of the bat through the swing, as well as their decision-making process. By combining these data points, he creates structured training programs that help players increase their baseball I.Q. and hitting percentage.
He believes the harder you work, the better a player you'll be. Throughout his career, he was regarded as a player who brought passion, dedication, energy, and leadership to the field — and now he brings it to coaching.
Erick works with players of all skill levels, including professional MLB/MiLB, Olympic athletes representing Team USA in the Tokyo Olympics, as well as NCAA athletes. Additionally, he enjoys working with the future stars of baseball who are either picking up a bat for the first time or have a few seasons under their belt.
